The aim of the Telling Both Stories Media Forum series was to implement the media-related recommendations of the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody; the 1996 Forum also included an event called "The Aboriginal Public Sphere" at which national and regional Indigenous leaders presented their ideas for a national Aboriginal public agenda; includes text of welcome speeches by Fred Collard and Chris Lewis; speeches by Rob Riley, Patrick Dodson, Galarrwuy Yunupingu, Colleen Hayward, Simon Forrest, Michael Mansell, David Ross, Olga Havnen, Charles Perkins, John Ah Kit; also includes a section on the presentation of the Louis Johnson Media Awards |
