Summary Rajiv Yadav as the Secretary, Department of Sport (DoS), Ministry of Sports and Youth affairs (MoYS), had been for the last six months, fully involved in organizing the South Asian Games. Normally, such events were primarily conducted by Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and the government had a minor role. However, in this case, the government was forced to play a much larger role due to certain circumstances. He was still wondering about the implications of a deep government involvement in organization of such events. He also felt that the games had been a success especially given the short duration in which everything was organized. Yadav wanted to identify the key factors that helped make the game a success and also areas of improvement. He was also worried about the nature of India's participation in the games. Though the team always won a handful of medals at the event, some of the top athletes belonged to a different class and faced little competition at the games
