Summary |
When Nevison (George Costigan) reveals the details of the ransom, the enormity of the situation hits a nervous and jittery Kevin (Steve Pemberton). Nevison is devastated when he has to share the heartbreaking news with his terminally ill wife Helen (Jill Baker). He asks Kevin to find the money within the company and to not say a word to anyone about Ann's (Charlie Murphy) kidnap.Catherine (Sarah Lancashire) tells Clare (Siobhan Finneran) that she spotted Tommy (James Norton) on the street. She's still determined to convict Tommy of Becky's death, so proactively talks to people in the area and shows his photo around. At the Milton Avenue house, Tommy and Lewis (Adam Long) come to blows over the treatment of Ann. Lewis is suspicious that Tommy has been mistreating her after he found Ann's underpants lying on the floor. Lewis shares his concerns with Ashley (Joe Armstrong).Kevin confides in his wife Jenny (Julia Ford) what he has done and is surprised by her reaction. Jenny thinks that Kevin, if it comes to it, should just deny everything. Ashley calls Nevison again and asks for a down payment of #20,000 of the ransom money - and he wants Kevin to deliver it. Kevin reluctantly agrees.Meanwhile on the home front, Catherine learns that her son Daniel (Karl Davies) and his partner are going to have a baby and Ryan asks Catherine if he can spend some time with granddad - Catherine's ex- husband Richard (Derek Riddell). Richard refuses to recognise Ryan (Rhys Connah) and blames him for his daughter's suicide. Catherine is upset that Richard still feels this way.On the way home, Catherine receives a tip-off about Tommy's whereabouts and finds herself knocking on the door of the Milton Avenue house, with Tommy hiding upstairs.PRODUCTION DETAILS:Red Production Company for BBC.
