Summary This program opens with a young boy caught in the rain on his bide ride home from school. Luckily he's wearing wet weather gear, but what would it be like for him if he wasn't dressed appropriately? Different scenarios encourage young viewers to think about how rain affects them. We explore different ways to predict rain, and learn about the water cycle with the aid of a simple graphic. Successive shots showing dams, a reservoir and a creek, at different times of the year, illustrate how rain can change the water level in some places. The program looks at the need to store and use rainwater, in addition to observing some farm activities that occur during the rainy months. Finally, viewers are taken through some easy steps to make a rain guage and children tell us what they like about rainy days. These four episodes look at the different weather conditions that occur through a year and how they affect our lifestyles, bodies, and behaviour. A young girl living on a farm and a young boy living in the suburbs relate ways in which they experience the changing seasons, from the clothes they wear to the activities they watch or participate in. The programs also exmaine how weather affects other living things, with an emphasis on how some plants and animals adapt to certain climatic conditions. For the Juniors, for students aged 6-8 years, aims to stimulate children's curiosity and imagination, widen their horizons and encourage them to explore their environment, present enjoyable experiences which relate broadly to the lives and interests of the children and raise issues. Each series is arranged in groups of programs relating to a particular theme
