Summary Technology available today can help reduce harmful emissions from tractor-trailers that cause global warming and smog. These off-the-shelf technologies have the added benefit of saving truckers money at the pump according to a new report. Considering only products that are commercially available today, tractor-trailers can be equipped with aerodynamic devices and high-performance tires and wheels yielding a greater-than-12-percent reduction in fuel consumption
