Summary |
"This extraordinary documentary looks at the Star Wars phenomenon and its far-reaching and extraordinary effects on the 501st Legion. In 1997, Albin Johnson founded a small club for fans of the Star Wars Trilogy, inspired by what he saw on the movie screen as a child. They set themselves apart from the millions of other fans by creating authentic-looking costumes of the film's Imperial forces, consisting of icons such as the Stormtroopers and Darth Vader. He called his group the "Fighting 501st Legion". Within only 11 years, the club's membership has nearly 4000 active members representing over 40 nations globally, from all walks of life, ages, social backgrounds and cultures. These "fanboys" perform charity work worldwide based on a self-imposed sense of civic duty and ideals." -- website |
