Summary |
This is a Pakistan the rest of the world never sees: colourful, musical and vibrant. Another Pakistan takes a different look at a country widely perceived as backward, dangerous and a hotbed for terrorism, driven by Islamic fundamentalism at odds with the modern age. British Pakistani businesswoman Nighat Awan follows a personal journey that shows how unlike this perception the country really is. She meets Pakistan's number one rock star and one of its leading fashion designers. She tours a textiles factory making garments for well-known European brand names and doesn't find any child labourers! She chats to a villager making beds, encounters a variety of children and students devoted to their country and tries her hand at golf. Pakistanis are very proud of their country and their religion. Islam has been highly misunderstood in recent years and in this film we are reminded that 'Islam means peace'. This is a testament to the other side of Pakistan - a culture with much music, colour and humanity. Imran Khan, former cricketer also features |
