Summary
This book addresses the Newton Power Flow Modelling of Voltage-Sourced Converter Based FACTS Controllers. Usually, incorporation of a FACTS device into an existing Newton Raphson algorithm requires a modification in the existing power flow equations and the Jacobian. The modelling strategy followed in this book is aimed to minimize these modifications. As a consequence, the existing Newton-Raphson codes for the power flow equations and the Jacobian can be reused. Each chapter pertains to the modeling of a specific VSC based FACTS Controller. For implementation, each of these FACTS devices are incorporated in realistic power systems and results analyzed
