Summary |
Quay House in Peckham is a live/work set-up created by architect Ken Taylor and his artist partner Julia Manheim. The extraordinary building is the site of their architecture and design practice. In the barn-like building, where its industrial past is respected, presenter Simon Davis is shown to an amazingly cosy bedroom for his night's stay in the beach-hut-inspired sleep quarter on the top floor. With recycled materials and preserved structure, Ken and Julia's philosophy of sustainable living is found throughout the unique "collage" house, which contains a work zone, a living area, a studio and separate flats for friends.
