Any part of Australia could experience an earthquake, so it's important to know what do do to reduce the effects of this hazard. This program looks at factors that can increase the disastrous effects of earthquakes, such as the condition of buildings, the soils they are built upon and the location of breakables and heavy objects. Landslides, like earthquakes, are more common that we think. Landslides can be sudden and violent or they may only move a few centimetres a year. This program helps you to assess your vulnerability and look for signs of movement. It also explains what to do if affected by a landslide.Hazards, Disasters and Survival is a series of six programs co-produced by the ABC and Emergency Management Australia.
