Born near Liverpool, United Kingdom, Elizabeth Day's work involves a wide variety of processes and means. It is usually based in specific sites that in recent years relate to Australian colonial history. She is currently engaged in two collaborative projects that look to colonial migration, in particular that of the prison and its ongoing violent impact. In 2013 she completed her Doctorate of Creative Arts in the Department of Writing and Society, University of Western Sydney. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, in state and public galleries. She is represented by the Conny Dietzschold Gallery in Sydney and Cologne
