Young Welsh soprano Rebecca Evans hosts her own series of popular operatic arias and show songs. Joining her, celebrities from the world of music. She begins with Rusalka's Song to the Moon from Rusalka, by Antonin Dvorak. Flutist Emily Beynon plays Rimsky Korsakov's the Flight of the Bumble Bee and the 2nd movement of Jacques Ibert's Flute Concerto. Shostakovich's Festive Overture in A Op. 96 and Ave Maria by Giulio Caccini follow. Then the Hilliard Ensemble performs Saphire by Piers Hellawell and In Hydraulis by Antoine Busnois. Rebecca Evans concludes with Je veux vivre from Romeo and Juliet by Charles Gounod |
