Summary |
Raymond Renaud, a retired postman in rural France. Zahava Stessel, a former librarian in New York. Ivan Ivanji, a Serbian writer, theatre director, and diplomat. Alexander Bychok, a lifelong factory worker in Kyiv. All four are former prisoners of German concentration camps and survivors of the Holocaust. But what came after that? How can life go on after being in Auschwitz or Buchenwald? Mundane reality is turned upside down and questioned. Layers of experience create dissonance, permeating the ordinary with the unimaginable. While observing them calmly in their living spaces, the four protagonists talk about themselves in extended monologue, always connected to their experiences in the camps while also looking to the future |
