Summary The case highlights the gap between current business practice and what is being taught at business schools. It traces the evolution of the MBA program from 'Corporate Based Era' of the 1900s to the MBA program as we know today. The case then draws our attention to the shortcomings of existing business education in terms of what of corporate recruiters are looking for and what business schools deliver. It then highlights the new initiatives taken up by the business schools in order to bridge the gap between business school and business. The case concludes with a discussion on the effectiveness of these new initiatives. The case is meant for faculties teaching at B-Schools as part of their faculty development program. It can also be a part of either a case teaching workshop or a workshop on teaching pedagogy
