Summary |
In this book, the author turns the results of his five-year investigation into the political positions of the traditional press in Brazil vis-à-vis the two most important popular leaders in its history: Getulio Vargas and Lula da Silva. Through this comparative analysis of the cases, he sheds light on the differences in the coverage of these governments, reflecting the process of modernization that the press underwent between these distant historical periods. At the same time, it highlights the chilling similarities in the attacks that both leaders suffered from "O Globo" and "O Estado de S.Paulo", relevant media from the past and present in Brazil, which had an outstanding role in the fate of governments led by these leaders |
