But greed, fear and intolerance saw this unique world vanish.This series takes viewers on an epic journey back to one of the most fascinating and important periods of World History when religious diversity was accommodated within a social and political system that finds echoes in todays society.The lemon tree, the water wheel and Aristotles lost philosophy all arrived in Europe through Islamic Spain, as did algebra and the beginnings of modern medicine, science and poetry.
