Summary This series looks at the Indian miracle of growth despite rampant corruption, patronage politics, the caste system, and poverty. Billionaire Dr Mallay owns the fastest-growing airline in the world, Kingfisher Airlines. The passenger growth in India is around 40% per year with the planes meeting the needs of Indian business people. Industrialist Anand Mahindra hopes to break into the American market with the Indian-made SUV, Scorpio that most middle-class Indians are driving. Sunita, a cardiologist and her husband Arjun, an anaesthetist, have just moved back to India from the USA to be part of the energy and buzz that they feel in India. They live in Bangalore, a city which has transformed itself with computer-related industries. Then there are the struggling poor of India who are trying to become part of the new growth and prosperity and meekly hoping for good times to come their way.
