Summary Taking photos and capturing images digitally are two very different experiences for photojournalists. Taking photos involves the magic of seeing the image emerge on paper in the darkroom, but capturing an image digitally provides versatility with rapidly approaching deadlines. Along with the ease of working digitally, there are layers of ethical dilemmas for photojournalists and their editors. Do you leave the unpalatable bits in, or truly bear witness? And, the fact is, just about everyone has a digital-camera; even soldiers take photos and publish them. Where does this leave room for the craft of documenting a story with pictures?
