Summary |
As part of Rotterdam's commemoration of the bombing of the city on 14th May 1940, Bernard Haitink conducted the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra in a performance of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 2 in C minor (the Resurrection) at the city's Doelen Concert Hall. The concert took place in the presence of Queen Beatrix and members of the Dutch Royal family and high-ranking delegations from other cities that also suffered devastating bomb damage during the Second World War. The NOS Radio Choir are joined by soloists Charlotte Margiono (soprano) and Jard van Nes (mezzo soprano) |
