Summary |
*Violence*Cath (Kate Box) calls on Ted (Sam Neill) for help with an investigation into a robbery in Vaucluse where two hundred grand has been stolen. The modus operandi points Ted squarely in Lennie's (Bryan Brown) direction. Meanwhile, Shannon (Hanna Mangan Lawrence) is excited when her hip and hot grandmother, Barb Cahill (Linda Cropper), recently cosmetically enhanced for the benefit of a new toy boy, arrives. Barb tells Lennie she recently received a Christmas card meant for him, with a clue suggesting the stolen money might soon be within reach, and she wants part of his cut.For Lennie and Barb old flames are fanned, but old wounds are opened too with reminders of the tragic death of their daughter, Alice - Shannon's mother - not long after Lennie went to gaol. Lennie, however, twigs that Barb has used his MO for the robbery in Vaucluse.Meanwhile, Margaret (Sarah Pierse) drops hints to Ted about their impending ruby anniversary, one she is convinced he has forgotten.Ted's nagging sense that the robbery in Vaucluse bears the hallmarks of a counterfeit rather than authentic Lennie Cahill MO, sees him also arrive at the realisation that Barb and her stud boyfriend are the culprits. Lennie and Ted set about trying to thwart the next safe bust by Barb and her toy boy accomplice and clear Lennie's name. They realise the Christmas card artist, Gabriel O'Dea, used a distinctive moniker that was actually the tattoo on the until-now unidentified body of the florist from the Sterling Nickle heist.PRODUCTION DETAILS:Produced by Matchbox Pictures for ABC TV and NBC Universal Distribution.
