Fenella Kernebone investigates the Diana Toy Camera craze. Back in the 1960s, a firm in Hong Kong created a dirt cheap 120 camera called the Diana. As a mainstream product, the Diana was a failure and discontinued in the 1970s. But as a cult artistic tool of avant garde and lo fi photographers, it has since become a huge success. Sydney photographer Tim Hixson is a fan and used the Diana for a year in his quest to document Sydney's Avalon Beach.As Leonardo da Vinci pointed out, the core subject matter of artists is always themselves. Andrew Frost visits The Naked Face: Self Portraits exhibition at the NGV and considers the enduring fascination artists and audiences have with self portraiture.Antoinette Halloran gives us an insider's account of Opera Australia's production of Madame Butterfly.
