SBS is once again proud to be the host broadcaster of the Deadly Awards. Now in its 17th year, the Awards recognise and showcase Indigenous excellence in fields such as the arts, music, sport, education, health, employment and broadcasting.This is the 9th year that SBS has been broadcaster partner of this prestigious event, which will be held at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday, 27th September 2011. The 2011 Deadly Awards will be hosted by two of Australia's brightest and well-known stars, television actor Aaron Pedersen and singer/songwriter Casey Donovan.This year, SBS's premier Indigenous current affairs program, Living Black, has been nominated for Television Show of the Year. Aaron Fa'Aoso has also been nominated for Male Actor of the Year award for his role in the critically acclaimed drama East West 101.Currently in its 14th season, Living Black takes audiences on a journey around the country to tell vital stories important to all Australians about life and current issues from an Indigenous perspective.
