Summary |
It's been 20 years since Damien Monkhorst and Michael Long made national headlines over an incident of racial vilification in a 1995 Anzac Day game between Collingwood and Essendon. The moment caused pain to players and divided fans. The incident forced the AFL to change the way it did business. Amongst those changes was the development of the AFL Indigenous Round and racial vilification laws. In this special Awaken, Stan Grant talks to major players, including Michael Long, about that day and the years and actions that have followed.Follow the conversation on Twitter: #NITV |
