Summary Vital Systems is a six part series which looks at the major systems of the human body. These include the muscular, skeletal, nervous, endocrine, respiratory, digestive, urinary and immune systems. Through the use of clinical images, graphic illustrations and interviews, the programs provide students with an understanding of how these systems work together in sustaining the millions of cells that make up the human body. This program looks at how we move our bodies. The vital interplay between the muscular, skeletal and nervous systems is illustrated through images of simple everyday movements and the more strenuous endeavours of athletes. A young paraplegic talks frankly about Spina Bifida and how it effects her movement and her ability to feel sensations.**Please note that this program/series has been created from masters kindly provided by DECS Tape Services in South Australia. These recordings have been collected over a period dating back to the early 1990s and as such, the picture quality may be of variable standard.**
