Summary |
*Coarse Language, Sexual References*Five young Australian filmmakers are firing their Opening Shot. Opening Shot is back with a third instalment of five half hour documentaries from Australia's next generation of documentary filmmakers. Bringing a fresh perspective to some of the toughest and most confronting topics in contemporary Australia, these filmmakers demonstrate that they all have something insightful and entertaining to say about subjects that matter to young people.First up is the comedy documentary Gaycrashers which follows gay comedians Joel Creasey and Rhys Nicholson as they stage a show in rural Victoria which three years ago was the focus of a homophobic scandal. In the lead up to their performance, Joel and Rhys spend a week in the town of Colac, getting to know the locals in order to investigate how deeply homophobic attitudes might lie. Plus, they have added pressure to their journey by having to sell as many tickets to their comedy show as possible...PRODUCTION DETAILS:Director/ Writer: Tom Rohr; Producer/Writer: Nel Minchin GAYCRASHERS is a Trotting Fox Production.
