Description 1 online resource (44 min.)
Summary Wounds of War is a documentary exposing human rights abuses during Nepal's 'People's War'#x9D; (1996-2006), which disproportionately affected indigenous and poor rural populations. Calling the government to task, it criticizes the lack of justice for war crimes, which has meant a blackout for the film's exhibition inside Nepal. Dramatic reenactments and harsh archival footage draw the spectator into visceral engagement with the emotional, physical, and political wounds of this tumultuous historical period and the lingering effect of violence on the victims of the conflict
