Summary Under top secrecy in England during WWI, a team of women were employed to help create mobile water storage devices for the Middle East. They were actually building 'landships' but their nickname for these large steel machines, 'tank', has stuck. These British metal beasts became a fearsome modern weapon that stunned Germany in the Great War as they rolled out to battle on the Western Front. In peaceful French woods, close to the site of the first effective tank battle, the trench detectives discover the shattered remnants of one. It had been destroyed in November 1917 at the Battle of Cambrai. The team traces its identity - it's a tank known by the serial number 'F6'.What emerges is a fascinating story of a machine, a man and some passionate and eccentric fans of the tank today.PRODUCTION DETAILS:A Yap Films production for History Television Canada and History Channel UK
