Summary Before he began his career as a successful sports commentator, Charlie King worked on the front line as a family violence case worker. He once cradled in his arms a distressed two-year-old who had been sexually abused as the child's father and abuser exclaimed, "She'll get over it!"That experience changed Charlie King's life. The well-known and much-loved voice of AFL in the Northern Territory, who regularly commentates on sport from his Darwin ABC Radio desk, decided he couldn't remain silent.Charlie, a Gurindji man, is now using his voice and renown to advocate against family violence in Aboriginal communities across the Northern Territory, and in the past three years has devised a unique and powerful strategy. Using his love and knowledge of Aussie Rules football, he has found a simple language to convey his message of non-violence, producing remarkable results in curbing violence within Indigenous communities. So much so, that he was appointed the White Ribbon Day Ambassador for 2009.We the Problem, We the Solution looks at the history and power of Charlie King's new movement against violence, and the hope of spreading his message of 'No More' to all men across Australia.PRODUCTION DETAILS:Producer: Grant Leigh Saunders
