Debabrata Das is Former Head & Renewable Energy Chair Professor, Department of Biotechnology, and Professor-in-Charge P K Sinha Center for Bioenergy, Indian Institute of Technlogy Kharagpur, India. He has consulted for World Hydrogen Energy, LLC, New York, USA Pilot plant design, fabrication and commissioning of hydrogen generation from sewage sludge; IFB Agro Industries Ltd., Kolkata, Study of process of alcohol transfer/issue/measurement and calculation of spirit transacted; and The Excise Commissioner, Govt. of West Bengal, Study and review of the existing system of measurements of spirit in West Bengal. Dr. Das is the author of 4 books, Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Biomass and Bioenergy, and editorial board member of International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, Indian Journal of Biotechnology, and Biotechnology for Biofuels. Ms. Jhansi L. Varanasi earned her M. Tech. degree in Biotechnology from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Kakinada, India in 2012. She is a project associate at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi, working on fermentative and bioelectrochemical production of biofuels. Currently she is pursuing her Ph. D. under the guidance of Prof. Debabrata Das at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India.
