Summary |
How do you move an 18th century home five miles down the road? Meet the Pattersons. Jeremy is a larger than life character, who owns a multi-million dollar family business that moves monstrous structures: his goal is to become America's number one mover.Tonya, his wife, is the office manager who holds the business together, 12-year-old Greg is being groomed to take over the family business and 8-year-old Ashley is a 'fire cracker' who is a little reluctant to be a part of the business. As Jeremy says: "Most kids like to play during summer vacation. Not ours, they would rather be on a job site". Family time can involve racing forklifts with 12-year-old Greg in the family warehouse.Jeremy and his team prepare an old Victorian mansion in Iowa for moving which includes: clearing the foundation, placing 80 foot beams under the house, jacking a 500 tonne house in the air off the ground. The whole process can cost up to $300,000. On top of the daily pressures of moving monstrous buildings, Jeremy is having heart issues. As a dad and a husband he has to juggle family commitments with the responsibility of being a 'heavy hauler'.PRODUCTION DETAILS:Discovery Communications |
