This exemplar discusses how research into television fandom was conducted, with specific focus on how fans reacted to the ending of favourite television programmes. Since the research was focused on a range of different TV programmes, analysis of online postings offered a useful tool to access a broad range of respondents who were in different geographical locations and who were fans of different shows.
