Summary |
"The chapters in this book represent the product of the first 18 month's work on a three-year ARC SPIRT research project, 'Australia's Housing Choices: Changing Opportunities and Constraints'. This ambitious study, which commenced in 1998 and is due to be completed at the end of the year 2000, is being collaboratively with the Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services and the Real Estate Institute of Australia. The aim is to explore key issues relating to the nature of housing choices and constraints for Australian households. The research program is essentially concerned with understanding the way in which contemporary economic and social trends may affect urban and regional housing markets and ultimately alter the distribution of housing resource across different demographic and socioeconomic groups." -- Intro |
