Summary |
This program focuses on the formal policies to assimilate Indigenous people and looks at why such policies failed. Notable figures such as Corrine Manning, Richard Broome and Aden Ridgeway discuss the changing social forces that lead to the 1987 Royal Commission on Black Deaths in Custody, the formation of ATSIC, Mabo and the Bringing Them Home report. It looks at the attitudes and policies towards reconciliation in the Hawke/Keating years and how this momentum has slowed in recent times |
