Victoria's national parks provide the foundation for the excellent system of conservation reserves in this State. National parks make up most of the land reserved under the National Parks Act, but there are also state parks, wilderness parks, coastal parks, marine parks and other special purpose parks reserved under the Act. In addition, Victoria has a variety of conservation reserves managed under other legislation, such as flora and fauna reserves, the wildlife reserves which are important elements of the State's total conservation program
