This paper presents the key points and challenges addressed by Dr Mark Rose in his keynote presentation at the Yapaneyepuk Indigenous Education Conference, held on 27-28 May 2007. The author explores the concept of cultural genocide as the progeny of colonialism and how this has impacted on the education of indigenous Australians.
