Summary Dr Lambert discusses the set of competencies that have been identified, across the world, as important for meeting the future needs of citizens and workers â competencies that are often labelled twenty-first century skills and dispositions. He argues that reform of education faces a fourfold challenge if these competencies are to be delivered successfully â involving a rational and cyclic sequence of little and large reforms in curriculum, teaching, assessment and reporting.
