Summary |
Architectural drawing depicting the meatworks and associated freezer works built on the south side of Corio Quay to ship refrigerated meat to England sometime prior to 1909. The works were leased to Sims Coopers & Company Freezing Works, and stood there for many years. The venture was never really successful, and only low numbers of meat were shipped over the years. By the 1930s the venture had been taken over by the Geelong Harbour trust, and was known as the "Harbour Trust Freezing Works" or "Corio Freezing Works". -- website |
