Summary |
Psychologists Eve Ash and Peter Quarry discuss conflict resolution skills amongst teams. It is important to firstly identify when conflict is happening, to recognise whether you or your behaviour has contributed to the conflict, and then to cut the spiral of conflict inducing behaviour. Steps to follow include sharing the problem, including the use of active listening skills, uncovering the real issues which have produced in the first place, and finding creative way to solving the problem. Mediation by a third party in the team is also discussed, emphasising facilitation skills |
