Summary |
The idea of a series on Ern Malley took most serious root with Shead after his portrait of Tom Thompson won the Archibald Prize for 1993. Max Harris wrote a letter to Thompson in May that year, declaring that the artist, whose name he had forgotten, had raised a ghost. Harris's comments made an indelible marker for the future |
