The thesis is concerned with the relationship between the enigmatic imagery of the painter Giorgio de Chirico and the philosophical perspectivism of Nietzsche. This is an intellectual stance that accomodates scepticism or unknowing as an acceptable creative position. This philosophical encounter with de Chirico's art sets the context for viewing the author's paintings
