Summary |
It's about mothers, wives, fathers and husbands all stuck in an emotional rut, too afraid to confront the painful past or the untenable present - until an innocent young girl takes action and everything changes. Emily is trying to find her father. Susan is trying to forget the past. Stephen is haunted by the past and Carl, the town policeman, has plenty to hide. His wife Elizabeth is afraid of her suspicions while son Joel has a secret love of his own.
