Summary |
"This dance program was performed in two parts. In part I, the Ballet Lausanne perform Le Sacre du Printemps by Stravinsky, followed by Romeo and Juliet by Berlioz (excerpts from Shakespeare's drama are recited by Delphine Seyrig). In contrast to these traditional pieces, Heliogabale is based on music from Chad, which in turn is followed by Wien. Wien (Vienna) is based on music by Webern-Heuderger. Theodorakis wrote the music for the 7 Greek Dances, and Brel and Barbara can be heard, with their most famous chansons providing the accompaniment to the dance. It all ends in hilarity with a song by Queen "The Show Must Go On". The dancers are wearing Versace, and Maurice Béjart arrives to greet the audience. (From France, no dialogue)" -- website |
