Summary |
This week Living Black is in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, where until recently, transient Aboriginal people were camping in Third World conditions. We visit those makeshift camps, and the new shelter being provided to bring comfort and safety to these visitors. Also in Kalgoorlie, we go along on night patrol to witness the serious challenge alcohol abuse is bringing the community. This week we also follow the crew from HMAS Warramunga on exercise in naval diplomacy: Naval diplomacy: spending a week with their namesake community, the Warumungu people from Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory. And over in Western Australia, we take a look at the crucial - and often dangerous - role Indigenous Australians have playin the Broome's pearling industry |
