Summary Yellow Fella, directed by internationally award-winning filmmaker Ivan Sen (Writer/Director of the multiple award-winning Beneath Clouds), is the story of Tom E Lewis's journey across the land and into his past, as he attempts to find the resting place of his father and to confront long-buried issues of identity, belonging and also, loss. Tom E Lewis, actor, writer and musician, was cast in Fred Schepisi's 1977 film The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith as the lead whose background echoed his own: a man of mixed heritage caught between two cultures. Yellow Fella follows Tom as he embarks upon a pivotal journey of self-discovery into his past and, ultimately, his future as he comes to a greater understanding of his identity and with it, a sense of belonging.
