Summary |
Pria discovers the reasons for whites to continue to call Cape Town home, including an historical and cultural attachment to the place, particularly for the Afrikaners. Independent of such emotional ties, for some whites like Clyde, a car park attendant at Table Mountain, moving away from South Africa is financially out of the question. He knows that he has no option but to adjust and make the best of a new and very different way of life for whites in black South Africa - "As we say in South Africa, what can we do?"
