This case study used a research project, which explored older Chinese migrants' collective narratives on ageing in a new place, to provide an understanding of narrative research methods. The background of older Chinese migrants ageing in New Zealand was provided. This article also offered a rationale of employing the Western episodic and Chinese fangtan interviews as data collection tools
