Summary |
Home from the hill: a film about a man who returns to live in England after 50 years of soldiering and hunting safaris in Kenya. Col. Hilary Cook was told to leave his home of 20 years by the African owner. Back in England he has to come to terms with the realities of modern life, cooking, central heating and tin-openers |
My African farm: aged 21, Sylvia Richardson went out to Kenya to join an expedition, married her first husband, and settled on a 200 acre farm in the foothills of Mount Kenya. That was 1931. Forty years later, Sylvia is one of the last original white settlers, and a survivor of an earlier era of colonialism |
The Heart of the Angel: witnesses a day in the life of the London Underground's 100-year old Angel Station, prior to its refurbishment |
In the company of men: a three-part series with the Prince of Wales's Company of Welsh Guards, follows the men on a final tour of duty in pre-ceasefire Northern Ireland and is a revealing look at army life and the terrors, tension and often boredom of modern soldiering |
