Summary |
A special investigation into suspected terrorist Willie Brigitte. Allegations have swirled around Brigitte ever since his discreet deportation from Australia and his much-publicised arrest in France last October. He has been portrayed as the most dangerous Al Qaeda link so far uncovered in this country. He is accused of undertaking terrorist training in Pakistan and suspected of plotting terror against a variety of targets in Australia. Now he sits 22 hours each day in a French prison cell, held without trial under the catch-all charge of "associating with a group with a view to preparing an act of terrorism". Who is Willie Brigitte? What brought him from France to Australia in May last year? Was it, as he claims, out of an interest in Aboriginal culture? What did he actually do while here on a tourist visa? |
