Summary |
This video illustrates Application Example 705-1, in which the maximum area of unprotected openings is determined for an exterior face of a building. Based on the fire separation distance of a building, the occupancy classification, and the construction type, a maximum percentage of the exterior wall may contain either protected or unprotected openings. When both protected and unprotected openings are present, then a unity formula must be utilized to ensure that the total weighted area of protected and unprotected openings is not exceeded |
