This series of 20 programs has been designed to add active illustrations of concepts and applications to the classroom.The programs present a unified view of the science and practice of chemistry. On-site footage of industrial processes is used to illustrate the application of chemical reactions. Computer animation reveals the changes that take place at the molecular level. Interviews with distinguished scientists highlight chemistry's historical foundations, recent developments and future directions. This episode: Presents oxidation reduction reactions involving the transfer of electrons. Specific reactions used for the electrical energy generated by this transfer are the zinc-copper cell, the lithium battery and the lead storage battery.**Please note that this program/series has been created from masters kindly provided by DECS Tape Services in South Australia.
